Along with Seinfeld and Frasier, Friends dominated the must-see TV of the 1990’s. Winner of innumerable television awards, the show features the lives of six friends in their late-twenties/early-thirties living in New York City - Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow), Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston), Ross Geller (David Schwimmer), Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc), and Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry). The six friends spend the majority of their time in a coffee house named “Central Perk” or in either Monica’s apartment or Joey and Chandler’s apartment.
The Friends (Season 4) DVD offers a number of hilarious episodes. In episode 80, Chandler shares a passionate kiss with Joey’s new girlfriend, Kathy. The incident threatens to ruin his friendship with Joey, but Kathy and Chandler eventually end up together. Meanwhile, Phoebe agrees to become a surrogate mother so that her brother and sister-in-law can have children. In a later episode, Rachel fixes Ross up with her boss’s niece Emily. The two hit it off and decide to get married, but during the wedding vows, Ross inadvertently calls Emily “Rachel”

I was sick of going to the video store to fight for the new releases and latest films. Waking up at 8:00 AM and racing to the store as it opens (many times in the freezing cold, gotta love the northeast.) to pick up those movies I had been waiting weeks for. Then getting inside to mad dash to the section where the movie is, only to find that there are only 4 copies, and they are all gone.
“What a waste of time, I guess I’ll try in two days and hopefully get one of these when it gets returned.”
This was me, verbatim, week in, and week out. It got so frustrating that I finally got to my breaking point, and forced myself to wait until a week after the movies were released, just so I didn’t have to fight for them. Not very convenient, but it was my only alternative at the time. Later, I was offered a cable package deal where I would wait for the latest films to come out onto my cable box, and I would buy and watch them from my home with the touch of a button. I’ll admit that this was a pretty cool feature that came with my cable plan. Slightly more convenient, as I didn’t have to leave my house, but at the same time, I would still have to wait about a week, so this system essentially just saved me gas. It seemed like there wasn’t a real method of getting my movies fast without having to push a stranger to the ground every Monday. I know there are a ton of you out there that share my former pain.
That’s right, former pain. I say this because I have now solved all my problems because I now download latest films. The Internet? Full of opportunity? What a concept!
Take all the video stores you’ve ever visited, put them all in one place, and you wouldn’t get even a tenth of the selection here, the Internet is certainly a magical thing. It isn’t free, but anything that is wouldn’t be legal. I now download latest films with ease. The best part is that I get access to all the new movies quicker than ever. No waiting weeks for the new releases like before. There’s no skimping on the quality either, DVD quality the whole way around. The enormous selection given along with the great software provided has ensured me of a quality lifetime membership that I do not regret.
With all the movie selection, I thought that this was the only thing that was offered, but I also get Music Videos and Sports Pay-Per-Views. Being a WWE fan, I know these things are incredibly overpriced by themselves. The part I liked best was the software that was given to me with membership. I would call myself a cheap person, so I analyzed the numbers, and the price I paid for my lifetime membership was paid for by the software that was included with it! The old video stores you once knew will soon be obsolete. I have finally caught up to the times, and I download latest films.

Featuring a motley band of eccentric baseball teammates, Major League ranks as one of the best sports comedies ever produced. Released in 1989, it follows the story of the then hapless Cleveland Indians (winners of numerous division titles in the decade since) who are inherited by their dead owners self-absorbed, bitchy wife, Rachel Phelps. Uncovering a clause in the teams contract that will allow her to move the team to Miami if attendance falls below two million for the year, Phelps does everything in her power to make the Indians not just lovable losers, but the worst team in baseball history. The result is a memorable and unorthodox adventure into the annals of baseball playoff history
Hiring Lou Brown (James Gammon), an ex-Toledo Mud Hens manager turned tire-shop manager, as the new leader of the Indians, Rachel Phelps constructs a team destined to finish in last place. Its all part of a scheme designed to land her in the far more preferable and climate-friendly city of Miami. To keep Brown company in the dugout, she imports an entire team of oddballs, rejects, and misfits. Among them are the charismatic Willie Mays Hayes (Wesley Snipes), a lightning bolt speedster who cant hit, Jake Taylor (Tom Berenger), an aging catcher with bad knees, Roger Dorn (Corbin Bernsen) a high-priced, low-talent free-agent acquisition, Pedro Cerrano (Dennis Haysbert), a power-hitter who cant hit a curveball to save his life, and Ricky Wild Thing Vaughn (Charlie Sheen), a fireball pitcher who cant hit the broad side of a barn. It all adds up to a pathetic display of baseball futility the likes of which major league baseball has never been seen before, and most likely, will never see again.
Longtime Indians announcer Harry Doyle (Bob Uecker) provides a plethora of hilarious one-liners and perfect comic relief while, with whiskey in hand, he follows a magical season in the history Clevelands troubled franchise. In fact, Ueckers outtakes alone would make for an extremely entertaining sketch comedy. Off-the-field stories also crop up with Jakes pursuit of his old flame Lynn Wells (Rene Russo), and Ricky Vaughns affair with rival teammate Roger Dorns wife Suzanne (Stacy Carroll).
But in the end, only one thing in the world can motivate this strange amalgam of rejects to develop into a contender a mutual dislike of Rachel Phelps. Punishing the team for each win, she eventually has them flying to games in an antique bi-plane and traveling cross-country by bus. Can the team overcome their personal demons, internal conflict, and an owner determined to see them lose? Its a load of fun finding out
Written and directed by the multitalented David S. Ward, creator of such Academy Award-winning films as The Sting (1973) and Sleepless In Seattle (1993), Major League is an amazingly well-written comedy classic that truly delivers. As far as comedies go, youll be hard-pressed to find one better than this. Love of baseball is a plus, but not a necessity for one to enjoy it. In the end, a funny movie is a funny movie, and a good laugh is a good laugh. Both extend far beyond the boundaries of the sports world. As such, I wager a shot of Bob Ueckers whiskey that youll fall in love with these Cleveland Indians

The art of creating movies is as unique and individual as the finger prints on our hands. Film directors, creative story tellers they are, visualize every aspect of their film long before lighting is set, cameras roll, and action begins. They are magicians making magic that entertains us with the final cut that reflects the spirit and passion of their dreams.
Comes one such filmmaker on the horizon, Jon Gustafsson. Born and raised in Iceland, he developed a passion for filmmaking when his father gave him an 8mm camera. Pursuing his dreams he studied filmmaking in Manchester, England and Directing for Theater and Cinema at the California Institute of the Arts. He has directed documentaries, music videos, short films, theater shows, and feature length films in Iceland and Canada. Some of his projects are ‘The Importance of Being Icelandic’ for CBC’s RoughCuts series, ‘Brighter Hell’ - a music video for the Canadian rock band The Watchmen, (nominated for the 1999 Prairie Music Awards) writing and directing his first feature film ‘Kanadiana.’ Gustafsson’s latest contribution is his award winning documentary Wrath of Gods starring Gerard Butler.
He was hired to play a small part in the Viking epic Beowulf and Grendel as one of Beowulf’s warriors. He had endless days on the set with time on his hands to kill so he took along his camera and captured the unbelievable story behind the movie Beowulf and Grendel. His expertise as a talented filmmaker has earned him six prestigious awards at film festivals around the world where his work has received praise and he has gained notoriety as a director.
Gustafsson is working on his next project, a comedy feature, that his fans are looking forward to with much anticipation.

You always watch this goody goody demure girl snuggle up to Clark Kent on the hit tv series Smallville. And now, Kristin Kreuk is sure to warm up the big screen as this hot and sexy young actress plays the lead role of tough chick Chun-Li in the upcoming Street Fighter film.
Born in Canada, 25-year old Kristin is of Dutch and Chinese descent. Her first television appearance was in Edgemont, a teen soap opera set at a Vancouver-area high school. After shooting its first season, she landed the lead role in a television movie Snow White: The Fairest of Them All, which aired on ABC in 2002.
Kristin’s biggest break came when her agent sent an audition tape to screenwriters who were putting together the cast of a new show entitled Smallville, which revolves around the life of teenager Clark Kent before he becomes Superman. The hot and sexy actress was originally unsure about auditioning for Lana Lang’s role, but was impressed upon reading the graveyard scene from the pilot episode that when she was offered the role, she immediately accepted it.
In addition, the hot and sexy actress is also the spokesmodel for Neutrogena’s new worldwide ad campaign, thus following the footsteps of fellow teen stars such as Jennifer Love Hewitt and Mandy Moore. In 2005, she renewed her contract for another two years, making her the company’s longest-serving model spokesperson.
Aside from Smallville, hot and sexy Kristin made her first feature film in 2003, which was a cameo appearance in Eurotrip. In 2004, she took the role of Tenar for the Sci-Fi Channel’s two-part miniseries Legend of Earthsea and signed on to the independent feature film Partition in 2005. In the summer of 2006, she starred in a short film called the Dream Princess, which was a modern sci-punk retelling of the tale of Sleeping Beauty. Her next film is Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.

As a Sci-fi and action fan, I expected Last Night to be full of survivalist fights and savagery. The movie had a bit of that, but for the most part, it was how different people were facing the last 6 hours on earth.
The movie starts out with Sandra (Sandra Oh), picking up some food and wine at an abandoned store in Toronto. Her car gets flipped by a mob and she is forced to walk across town to home. Strangely, there is not quite the havoc one would expect (like the LA riots). Tired and frustrated, she rests outside of the apartment of Patrick (Don McKellar) a cynical man who just left his family’s mock Christmas party. Patrick lets Sandra use his telephone and eventually agrees to help her get a car so she can die with her husband. He seeks the aid of two friends for the use of a car.
One is too busy giving his first (and last) piano recital. The other friend is a make-out man dedicating his last days to every sexual encounter possible. Patrick visits the make-out man, just in time to meet the make-out man’s latest lover: his former high school French teacher. But, no one judges anyone as it is the final few hours on earth. The make-out guy is reluctant to give up one of his 3 cars as it is important to his image. But, he finally finds it in his heart to help out.
The movie goes on like this. Everyone is facing their final few hours in a pretty civilized for the most part. I liked some of the dialogue and comments. Eg. “Why does everyone feel sorry for children? They haven’t done any living, yet.” The filming was not the greatest, but if you looked at it like a stage play it is quite brilliant and entertaining. Great sound track with top music from the 60’s and 70’s. I really liked Sandra Oh’s character and in my humble opinion, think that she made the movie. Even though I am not an artsy, drama fan, I would watch this movie again.

I thought about writing about the least attractive women in sports women but I got as far as Barbara Hershey from Hoosiers, and I thought about the scene when she kisses Gene Hackman, remembered how it was like watching my grandparents make-out, I gagged and then decided to go in a totally different direction. So I will now present to you the 10 hottest women from sports movies.
10. Susan Sarandon - Bull Durham
Overall I’m not a Susan Sarandon fan. She’s pretty ordinary looking - at least compared to the other women on this list. But she was definitely hot in Bull Durham.
9. Elisabeth Shue - The Karate Kid
I saw this movie when I was about 10. I instantly fell in love with Ali (Elisabeth Shue). Then I saw her in Leaving Las Vegas about 10 years later and I was in awe. But I do still wonder what the hell she saw in the dorky Daniel (player by the 55 year old Ralph Macchio).
8. Christine Taylor - Dodgeball
Does Dodgeball deserve to be on this list? Oh well, Christie Taylor is such a cutie she deserves to be here.
7. Halle Berry - The Program
I gotta say that The Program may be the most overlooked sports movie. It has great action and a decent plot and two hot women. A young Halle Berry was one of them.
6. Keirra Knightley - Bend it Like Beckham
There’s just something about Keirra Knightley that is captivating and distracting. I’m not sure exactly what happened in this movie (something with soccer and a strict, religious family) but Knightley was in it.
5. Kristy Swanson - The Program
And here is the second woman from The Program. Even if you don’t like football, Swanson makes this a must-see movie.
4. Nicole Kidman - Days of Thunder
This is the first movie I ever saw with Kidman. She had long, red hair and she was hot. She’s still hot, but she’s never looked quite as good in any other movie as she did in this one.
3. Charlize Theron - The Legend of Baggar Vance
I’m not sure how this wasn’t a better movie with Theron, Matt Damon, and Will Smith starring, but Theron looked great and that was enough to make it worth my while.
2. Kelly Preston - Jerry MaGuire
Ahh, the ex-lover of Jerry (played by Tom Cruise). She got to do what many of us wish we could now do - punch Cruise in the face. And am I the only one that was wondering why Jerry was wasting his time with Zellweger’s character instead of begging Preston’s character to come back to him? It was annoying.
1. Jessica Biel - Summer Catch
I didn’t really buy Freddie Prinze Jr. playing a pitcher but I did buy Biel in a bikini. Wow, she “fit” the role very well.

Tyler Perry grew up very poor in New Orleans, Louisiana. Like many others who grew up poor, I am sure he knows what it is like to have to use a neighbor’s hose to run a bath after the water got shut off in the middle of the night or when the fridge breaks and the rented fridge has cockroaches. Unlike me however, Tyler Perry was abused mentally and physically. When I say abused, I am not talking about a slap on the hand for hitting your sister; I’m talking about concussion type abuse.
Until about the age of 19, Tyler Perry blamed his lack of success on the abuse he suffered as a child. Then one day he found himself at home watching an episode of Oprah, that told depressed people to write down their feelings on paper. Now I know, most guys are saying Tyler is really starting to sound suspect since he is at home watching Oprah and writing down his feelings. Guys don’t go out like that though…the process really works. It wasn’t easy, but his writings became plays and the plays became movies.
Tyler was 19 years old when he decided he had to leave Louisiana. While in Atlanta, he decided to put all the money he had and even money he did not have into his first big play “I Know I’ve Been Changed.” When I say all, I do not mean all like if this thing does not work I can get some money out of my 401K or all if this does not work I can call my parents and they will wire me some money, no I am talking about all like if this thing does not work I am homeless. Well, that is exactly what happened. Only 30 people showed up to his opening. He lost his twenty thousand dollar investment and became homeless.
Now for one minute put yourself in Tyler Perry’s shoes. You left your family in Louisiana to pursue your dream of writing plays and then because of that dream you become homeless. I think 99.9% of you who are reading this would have quit at this point, but not Tyler Perry. He lived in his car for five years and seeing as though he is 6′5, I am not sure how that worked out but maybe he had a van. While living in his car and on the streets, Tyler Perry kept writing and eventually had his first hit at Atlanta’s House of Blues. That place has a really good Gospel brunch but back to Tyler. After his first big hit, he hooked up with Bishop TD Jake’s to do “Women Thou Art Loosed.” I took my Mom to that play and I can remember her crying afterward. To this day I can’t remember a song or a movie having that effect on her. That play made a million dollars in just five months. From there, Tyler Perry went on to write “Diary of a Mad Black Woman”, “Madea’s Family Reunion” and “Meet the Browns” all sellout and all hit plays.
Since Madea was the driving force behind much of his early success, let’s take a look back at the history of famous Black actors in drag. There was Flip Wilson as “Geraldine”, Eddie Murphy in “The Nutty Professor” and “Norbert”, Martin Lawrence in “Big Mama’s House”, Wesley Snipes in “Too Wong Foo”, and of course you had Marlon and Shawn Wayans in “White Chicks”. Now just think for a second is this all that different from having us perform in black face? Yeah, I know many will say Whites do it too just look at John Travolta in “Hair Spray”. My response to that is Whites also put on black face.
Now since I am probably losing my Tyler Perry fans, let me focus back on his achievements. All the before mentioned plays have become big movie hits making a combined seventy-five million dollars. Now one movie and play I did not mention was “Why Did I Get Married”. I saw the play and movie; I have to say I liked the movie a whole lot more. That was probably because I could only afford the cheap seats for the play and people kept getting up in front of me, so I did not really get to appreciate it.
To wrap this up, Tyler Perry had shut down the theater business with his record setting plays. Then he shut down the movie business with his record setting movie debut, so now he was ready to take on television. You know there is an old boys network that says Black can star in roles, but they cannot produce, write and direct their own show. By now you know Tyler does not let anything stop him. He went back to Atlanta, built a film and television studio with his own money, wrote, produced and directed ten episodes of “House of Pain” and then just gave it to a local Atlanta TV station. He asked them to just put it on and if the people like it, give me a deal if they do not, then just give me my tapes back. Do you know how raw that is? Will Smith, Denzel Washington and Jaime Foxx have been in this town making hits for years, but none of them have ever built a television studio. You have got to give it up for Tyler, he is a true hustler. Let me close this out by promoting Tyler’s current hit “Meet the Browns” in theaters March 21.

Nominated for 28 Emmys, including several for Outstanding Visual Effects, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine continues the rich tradition of the original 1960s Star Trek franchise. Created by former L.A. police officer Gene Roddenberry, the Star Trek TV series morphed into a franchise famous for the unprecedented fanatical devotion of its audience. Lasting only three seasons during its original network run, Star Trek struck gold with its syndicated reruns, launching a number of motion pictures featuring the original cast as well as novels, comic books, collectibles, and reams of Star Trek-related memorabilia. Following on the heels of Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987), the first Star Trek series spin-off of the original, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine foreshadowed additional spin-offs - Star Trek: Voyager (1995), and Star Trek: Enterprise (2001). Sporting an entirely new cast and crew from its two predecessors, the show focuses on a particular system administered by the Federation instead of the usual Star Trek mission of “exploring strange new worlds”
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine follows the exploits of the Starfleet crew aboard an abandoned and gutted Cardassian space station orbiting the planet of Bajor. In the aftermath of Cardassian occupation, the Bajorian government invited the Starfleet to oversee the reconstruction of the space station. Deep Space Nine quickly transformed into a teeming city of commerce and a hub for travel (similar to Babylon 5) thanks to the discovery of an unknown wormhole nearby. But the wormhole leads to the Gamma Quadrant, realm of the feared Dominion alliance, which views the wormhole travelers as a threat to its totalitarian grip on power. As such, the Dominion launches an attack against the Federation and its Klingon allies. The subsequent and ongoing war is the basis for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
Capt. Benjamin Sisko (Avery Brooks) is credited with discovering the wormhole, and he oversees the crew of Deep Space Nine as they wage battle to preserve the Federation. Ironically, his colleague, Constable Odo (Rene Auberjonois), is a Changeling - an alien race of “shapeshifters” who lead the Dominion’s united front. Together with the rest of the crew aboard Deep Space Nine, they struggle with internal and external conflicts that threaten to destroy their very way of life
The Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (Season 6) DVD features a number of exciting episodes including the season premiere “A Time to Stand” in which Sisko is relieved of his command of the Defiant. With Deep Space Nine having been abandoned to the Dominion, the Federation is on the verge of losing the war. Sisko is placed in command of a captured Jem’Hadar spaceship and tasked with a dangerous mission which jeopardizes the lives of everyone onboard Other notable episodes from Season 6 include “Statistical Probabilities” in which the crew must analyze the probably of a desirable outcome from the proposed peace treaty with the Dominion, and “Time’s Orphan” in which Molly O’Brien wanders into a vortex that sends her centuries into the past, but when the crew retrieves her, it’s an older version of Molly

Nominated for 58 Emmys, including one for Outstanding Drama Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation fulfilled all the potential and promise anticipated of a long-awaited successor to the original 1960s series: Star Trek. Created by a former L.A. police officer, Gene Roddenberry, the Star Trek TV series morphed into a franchise famous for the unprecedented fanatical devotion of its audience. Lasting only three seasons during its original network run, Star Trek struck gold with its syndicated reruns, launching a number of motion pictures featuring the original cast as well as novels, comic books, collectibles, and reams of Star Trek-related memorabilia. Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987) became the first TV series to follow on the heels of the original, and its success would spark the creation of three additional series - Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993), Star Trek: Voyager (1995), and Star Trek: Enterprise (2001). But The Next Generation remained the most popular spin-off. Despite new characters and new episodes, the mission remained the same as before - “to boldly go where no man has gone before” And to continue the rich tradition of the Star Trek name - a mission Star Trek: The Next Generation accomplishes with relative ease
Star Trek: The Next Generation takes place in the 24th Century, almost one-hundred years after Captain Kirk’s crew set out to explore strange new worlds. Capt. Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart - I Claudius) commands the USS Enterprise-D and its diverse crew of humans, cyborgs, and varying life forms. Accompanying him on his voyage is an entirely new cast of passengers and crew including Commander William T. Riker (Jonathan Frakes - North & South), Lt. Commander Data (Brent Spiner), Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton), Lt. Tasha Yar (Denise Crosby), Lt. Worf (Michael Dorn), Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden), and her son Ensign Wesley Crusher (Wil Wheaton) Together, they struggle against numerous obstacles to carry out the mission of the USS Enterprise: “To explore strange new worlds To seek out new life; new civilizations To boldly go where no one has gone before!” This pioneering attitude, coupled with imaginative and brilliantly-produced alien worlds, provides Star Trek with its unique allure and special place within American pop culture - especially those episodes from the original series, widely regarded as the most popular of the Star Trek franchise
The Star Trek: The Next Generation (Season 6) DVD features a number of exciting episodes including the season premiere “Time’s Arrow” in which time travel creates more problems for the Enterprise as the away team’s mission is disturbed by a curious and nosy Samuel Clemens. Meanwhile, Capt. Picard has a recollection of an encounter on Earth in the 1890s Other notable episodes from Season 6 include “A Fistful of Datas” in which a group of hackers have stolen Data’s physical features and real life abilities and the crew must work overtime to get him back, and “Lessons” in which Capt. Picard is placed in a precarious position when carrying out his duty threatens to place the woman he loves in dire jeopardy
